ACT 1: Part 7 - The Liberation of the Midnight Steel

The ship is yours adventurers; the Midnight Steel has been liberated from her tyrannical custodians and delivered into the hands of her new Captain and First Mate. Behind you, Impound Docks 1 to 7 are ablaze, vibrant golden flames licking almost a mile into the sky as clouds of billowing green and purple smoke and fog, some kind of magical effect, pour out onto the river itself, blown upriver by the easterly winds from the sea. There is no way anything could possibly have survived those explosions; carefully planned and placed over the course of six years. Only Stahl, still imprisoned within the Bunker, will have lived from Impound Dock One. Someone will be visiting him soon to take him into custody, and question him. But you… You now find yourselves drifting upriver, powered by the strength of the mighty Realta, Starfang Class Cosmic Guardian, and the propulsion offered by Force-blasting Arcane Cannons. But the power of both has come with a hefty price for your Witch.

Neyon sacrificed parts of his own life force in order to force-charge the Arcane Key, hastening your escape. He also substituted his Confidant's Mana-cost with life energy, while additionally taking a firm hit from a lance tipped with a needle-filled explosive head. Left in near-critical condition, Neyon has been moved down into Neiven's old cabin, where Ioana has begun the process of saving his life. Bryande has been left confused and stressed by the whole ordeal, wondering how, and why, this happened in the first place - this is NOT how magic works back where he's from, after all.

Huru and Neiven are both unharmed, and the three Navian prisoners, a woman and two childern (one boy, one girl) are suffering from minor injuries but are otherwise ok and thankful for their rescue. Snack and Snicker both took a few hits upon the Docks, but are still up and poking things, apparently unable to keep their fascination with explosives and treasure at bay. In order to distract himself from Neyon's state, Neiven has offered to show Snack the Arcane Cannons and explain how they work.

Current Status Report: - The ship is currently shrouded by a magical fog that hides your escape. - You are currently moving slowly in order to maintain secrecy. - At your current speed you will find yourselves reaching the Yorin Bridge in 3 hours. Nightfall will be in 5 hours. - The plan is to wait with the ship until other members of the crew arrive with one of the Nightblades, who will then rest up with you to return you to Fuldair in the morning.
